Dial a Ride is now contactless
This is a convenient and easy way to pay via our contactless payment system requiring our passengers only to touch their contactless card onto the reader when they board the bus. If you do not have contactless you will be able to use your PIN number.
Each time you travel you can now also request a receipt for your fare, just give our driver your email address or mobile number and it will be sent to you once payment has been taken. This is a safe a secure method of payment and we are confident that all of our passengers will find it convenient and simple to use.
Fleet Manager Required
We are constantly told we are in unprecedented times, and indeed this pandemic has touched the lives of millions of people across the world. When we became aware that the virus had reached the UK, Woking Community Transport decided to react in a positive way, making our vehicles available to the NHS, Surrey County Council, Woking Borough Council, and local charities as part of the countywide emergency call out plan.
Over the last several months, we have distributed emergency food parcels across Surrey, delivered PPE and medical devices to care homes and medical centres, and provided transport for key workers, including NHS staff. We have transported people (who found themselves homeless during the pandemic) to work, collected and distributed food on behalf of the Woking Foodbank and provided transport for an NHS clinic service. Our drivers have delivered a meals on wheels service, and throughout the pandemic, we have continued to provide a dial-a-ride service, transporting some of the most vulnerable people living in our community. Our staff have been amazing, and have adapted to the changing situation as we continue to provide transport services during this period of Covid-19.
Now as we plan for the future, we have an exciting, but demanding new position to fill as our Fleet Manager. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team who are determined to provide the best transport services possible. You will help to ensure the great work that WCT has achieved over the last few months continues, and will support the successful introduction of a fully electric vehicle fleet – the first in the country to operate as a pure dial-a-ride service.
